Sumitomo Rubber Latin America Limitada To Be Established
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Kobe, Japan will establish a company to sell replacement tires for the Central and South America in order to strengthen its tire sales in the region under the global operations in the tire business. The company named Sumitomo Rubber Latin America Limitada will be located in Santiago, Chile and start business in October 2009 for the region which is expected to keep growing. |

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Japan established a tire selling company named Sumitomo Rubber Middle East FZE in September in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in order to expand sales of replacement tires in the Middle East region, where the demand for tires is growing due to its rapid economic development. The new company starts operations on Thursday January 1, 2009. |

June 2008 - Dunlop high-performance runflat tire SP SPORT 600 DSST CTT developed by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Kobe, Japan recorded 7'29'' on the driving test for Nissan GT-R on the Nurbrugring Circuit in Germany on April 16 and 17 this year. The test was conducted jointly with Nissan Motors Co., Ltd.and it was the first time as a production car for the super car fitting the tires to break the record of 7'30''. |
