"Thermal Control Technology" Enhances Ride Comfort to Be Same as or Better than Standard Tires
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Kobe, Japan recently announced that with its new Thermal Control Technology, the company has succeeded in development of the 4th generation runflat tires to provide excellent ride comfort equivalent to or better than standard tires, while maintaining runflat performance of the tire. The 2nd biggest tire manufacturer in Japan has been working hard on development of technologies for runflat tires to contribute to the world in terms of both driving safety and environment protection.

| Tyre Technical Center Opens
Celebrating its 100th anniversary, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Kobe, Japan constructed new Tyre Technical Center and held the opening ceremony on Friday September 17, 2009. The facility will play a major role in heritage and creation of technologies to enable the company to continue to grow in the next 100 years.

| Falken Tyre Europe Established
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. in Japan established a tire selling company named Falken Tyre Europe GmbH in Offenbach, Germany in order to expand sales of Falken- and Ohtsu-branded replacement tires in Europe as part of its global sales strengthening activities. The new company will start operations in January, 2010.
