FALKEN Wins 2nd Victory at ALMS
Team Falken Tire has won the 2nd victory this year in the GT class at the 7th Race Baltimore Grand Prix of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), which was held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on Saturday September 3, 2011.
The Team Falken Tire started participation in ALMS in 2008. Since 2010, they have obtained the full support of the Porsche Works and raced on Porsche 911GT3RSR fitted on Falken tires in the GT class of the ALMS.
At the fifth race held on Saturday August 6, they raced to obtain the first position, thanks to Falken tires’ outstanding performance on wet surfaces, in spite of the harsh conditions of heavy rainfall towards the end of the race, and won the first victory in the GT class.
At the recently-held 7th race under the summer heat, they started at the fifth position of the preliminary race. Though the front part of the vehicle was destroyed in a crash, the team overtook in spite of the high temperature of the road surface and won the 2nd victory this year. Thus, Falken tires have proved their excellent overall performances on various road conditions including wet roads.
