Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that our high-performance DUNLOP "SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST CTT" runflat tires have been adopted as factory standard tires on the 2018 model "NISSAN GT-R," which Nissan Motor Corporation released in November of last year.

Developed specifically to bring out the full performance potential of super sports cars such as the "NISSAN GT-R," our DUNLOP "SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST CTT" tires incorporate the latest in runflat tire technology while also featuring outstanding sporty performance fit for motorsports. As a result, Nissan has chosen them as factory standard tires for their "NISSAN GT-R" every year since their 2011 model.

For the 2018 model "NISSAN GT-R," our latest iteration of the DUNLOP "SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST CTT" features an optimized contact profile (i.e. the area of the tire tread that is in contact with the road at any given time) to produce superior road traction and driving stability at any speed range. Meanwhile, for the 2018 model "NISSAN NISMO," our DUNLOP "SP SPORT MAXX GT600 DSST CTT" not only features an optimized contact profile, but also achieves an even higher level of maneuverability than its predecessor thanks to thorough and repeated drive testing.

  [Runflat Tires]
Runflat tires are tires that can continue running at a designated speed for a certain distance* even when completely flat (i.e. when internal air pressure is zero). These tires not only contribute to improved safety, but also save resources and reduce overall vehicle weight by eliminating the need for spare tires.
*The speed and running distance requirements of runflat tires vary from vehicle to vehicle.
