Q1. When was Sumitomo Rubber established?

Sumitomo Rubber was established in 1909 as the Far East company of Dunlop U.K., a company in Great Britain, and incorporated as Dunlop Rubber (Far East) Co., Ltd. in 1917. In 1960, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation commenced capital participation in the Company, and in 1963 Sumitomo took over responsibility for management, and the Company changed its name to Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. In July 2003, the Company spun off its sports business and other divisions, integrated with Ohtsu Tire and Rubber Company and reorganized under a new organization as a company with functions as both a manufacturer of tires and other products and the group headquarters.

Q2. When did Sumitomo Rubber list its stock?

Sumitomo Rubber listed its stock on the Second Section of the securities exchanges in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya in 1975 and elevated its shares to the First Section of each securities exchange in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya in 1987.
