| In light of planned changes to the company's top management structure in 2019, the Board of Directors of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. has elected and approved the appointment of a new CEO at a Board Meeting held on December 27, 2018.

| If approved by the shareholders at the next Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, scheduled for March 26, 2019, Mr. Satoru Yamamoto (currently a Director of the Company) will formally assume the position of CEO at the Board Meeting to be held immediately after the General Meeting of Shareholders. At the same time, the current CEO, Mr. Ikuji Ikeda, will assume the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. |
