DUNLOP “GRANDTREK H/T31T” Selected as Factory Standard Tires for Toyota’s LEXUS GX550 OVERTRAIL+

DUNLOP (Company name: Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.; President and CEO: Yasuaki Kuniyasu) is pleased to announce that it has begun supplying DUNLOP GRANDTREK H/T31T tires for use as standard tires on the LEXUS GX550 OVERTRAIL+, which underwent a model year update in September.
Since its market launch in 2002, LEXUS GX550 has been sold mainly in North America and has evolved as an SUV that provides both comfortable driving performance even on a rough road and a sense of luxury. The latest model year update improves ride comfort and handling stability, further refining its ride quality and ensuring confident handling across a variety of road surfaces. The new OVERTRAIL+ features larger tires, increased from 265/65R18 to 265/70R18, along with greater minimum ground clearance, for improved off-road capability on challenging terrain. It combines a bold, powerful look with on-road cabin quietness.
The GRANDTREK H/T31T was newly developed as a product that pursues on-road performance in addition to the reliability and durability that the GRANDTREK series has developed. The adoption of a highway terrain (H/T) pattern* and new tread rubber improves high-speed stability, quietness, fuel efficiency, and anti-wear performance. The tires strike an excellent balance between ride comfort and strength that is required to support the substantial body of the LEXUS GX550. On the exterior, a new sidewall design emphasizes toughness and presence, complementing the vehicle’s bold, commanding styling.
