DUNLOP to Compete in the 2026 Nürburgring 24h-Race with Twin Porsche under the DUNLOP and FALKEN Banners

 DUNLOP (Company name: Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.; President and CEO: Satoru Yamamoto) is pleased to announce that we will be competing in the 2026 ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring (the Nürburgring 24-hour Race) as DUNLOP Motorsport, fielding two Porsches in Dunlop colors for the two brands: DUNLOP and FALKEN.

We have unified all communication under the DUNLOP name. As part of our strategy to enhance brand value as a premium global brand, we are competing in the Nürburgring 24-hour Race and the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). The Porsche 911 GT3 R cars in iconic colors will race at one of the world’s toughest circuits as we pursue to improve our technical advantages and brand value even further.

■DUNLOP Motorsport

The Porsche 911 GT3 R to run the race is an embodiment of the brand value with a look that combines tradition with latest technologies; adorned in a brand-new yellow-and-black Dunlop livery designed by a team from Polyphony Digital, the developer of Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4, a project in which DUNLOP participated as an official tire partner last year, the car will carry the number 17 - an homage to some of the iconic racing cars in the history. DUNLOP sees the Nürburgring North Loop, one of the toughest racing circuits in the world, as an important stage to showcase its development and boost brand communication. By demonstrating its technical capabilities, uncompromising performance standards, and its strengths as a global brand, it will continue evolving building on its history of innovation dating back to 1888.

 

FALKEN Motorsports

In pursuit of “sustaining dominance,” FALKEN Motorsports dominated the past season with five victories in the NLS including four one-two finishes, twelve podium places, and two pole positions, securing the NLS Speed Trophy for the second year running after the win in 2024. It has been a fixture at the 24-hour race since 1999, and will continue its presence at the 24-hour race and NLS races in 2026, wits its iconic teal-and-blue colors and the start number 44, which is a reference to the house number of its first German location, to ensure brand consistency. It is also continuing its collaboration with Max Kruse Racing, the racing team of former professional soccer player Max Kruse, which has celebrated numerous class victories on Falken tires. Meanwhile, FALKEN has extended its partnership with the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring into 2028. The FALKEN logo will be featured on all race cars in the NLS, raising its presence even further both in competitions and as an event.

 

■Outline of the Nürburgring Endurance Series

The Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) is an eight-round endurance racing series held at Nürburgring in Germany. Unlike the 24-hour endurance race that takes place only once a year, the NLS races range in duration from 4 to 12 hours. Many top-tier teams compete in the NLS as vehicle manufacturers as well as tire manufacturers use the endurance races as testing grounds for their pursuit of victory in the 24-hour race. The racecourse is nearly identical in length to that of the 24-hour endurance race, with a single lap spanning approximately 25 km. Featuring around 170 corners, an elevation difference of approximately 300 meters, narrow track widths, and undulating, slippery road surfaces, the circuit is among the most arduous racetracks in the world.
