Sumitomo Rubber (Changshu) and Sumitomo Rubber do Brasil Receive ISO 50001 Certification

Sumitomo Rubber Industries is pleased to announce that "Sumitomo Rubber (Changshu) Co., Ltd." and "Sumitomo Rubber do Brasil Ltda.," two of our group's tire production/sales subsidiaries, have recently received certification in "ISO 50001:2011," an international standard for energy management systems. These two subsidiaries are the first in the Sumitomo Rubber Group to receive ISO 50001 certification.

The ISO 50001 standard was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in June of 2011 as an international standard that aims to "enable organizations to establish the systems and processes necessary to manage and continually improve energy performance, including energy efficiency, use and consumption."
With the acquisition of this certification at our subsidiaries, the Sumitomo Rubber Group will continue working to achieve further improvements in our energy performance.
