Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the makers of FALKEN tires, is pleased to announce that Team FALKEN Tire, competing in a Porsche 911 RSR racing car equipped with FALKEN tires, has won first place in its class (GTLM) in the "Sahlen's Six Hours of The GLEN," the sixth race of this year's "TUDOR United SportsCar Championship (TUSC)," which was held at the Watkins Glen International track in Watkins Glen, New York this past Sunday, June 28.
Team FALKEN Tire first participated in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), the predecessor to TUSC, in 2008 and, since 2011, has competed using a Porsche 911 RSR racing car provided with the full support of Porsche WORKS. In spite of constantly changing road conditions due to intermittent rain throughout the race, Team FALKEN Tire maintained steady driving for the entire six hours of the race to finish first-thanks to the superior wet/dry performance of FALKEN tires. Team FALKEN Tire's victory in this race serves as further proof of the outstanding performance of FALKEN tires.
