Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that our FALKEN brand will be among the official sponsors of "Red Bull Flugtag KOBE 2015.," the first event of its kind to be held in Japan.
"Flugtag" means "flying day" in German and "Red Bull Flugtag" is an event in which competitors build their own unique, unpowered aircraft, which they ride as they attempt to fly from a deck rising 6m over a body of water. While challenging the limits of human-powered flight, competitors are rated on their "Creativity" and "Performance" in addition to "Flight Distance." Over 100 Red Bull Flugtag events have been held in locations around the world since the first was held in Vienna, Austria in 1992, but this will be the first Flugtag to be held in Japan. In honor of our sponsorship, we have established a "Like! Contest - FALKEN Tire Prize," offering a set of FALKEN tires to the team that receives the most user votes on the Red Bull Flugtag Kobe 2015. official website.
