Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have finalized our FALKEN Motorsports activity schedule for 2017. This year, FALKEN will again be competing in the ADAC Zurich 24-hour Race (commonly known as the 24h-Race N rburgring), which will be held in Germany this coming Thursday, May 25 through Sunday, May 28.
FALKEN has competed in the famous 24h-Race Nrburgring, which is widely considered to be the world's toughest endurance race, since 1999 and placed third overall in 2015. This year, FALKEN Motorsports will be aiming for the championship with a renewed racing team, now featuring two powerful racecars: a brand new BMW M6 GT3 in addition to the Porsche 911 GT3R that the team has used for many years.
At the same time, we are also proud to supply FALKEN tires to SUBARU TECNICA INTERNATIONAL, who won their second consecutive championship in the SP3T Class in last year's 24h-Race Nrburgring while using FALKEN tires. Through these and other activities, we aim to contribute to the growing popularity of motorsports in general while further enhancing the value of the FALKEN brand, which has already earned widespread recognition in Europe and North America.
