Announcing the 2017 DUNLOP Motorsports Activity Schedule

March 14, 2017

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have finalized our DUNLOP motorsports activity schedule for 2017. This year, we will once again be supplying our high-performance tires to top racing teams and individual racers competing in a wide range of race categories in Japan and throughout the world with the dual aims of further enhancing the value of the DUNLOP brand while also contributing to the growing popularity of  motorsports in general.

1.Four-Wheel Motorsports Activities
In Japan, the highlight of our activities will be the SUPER GT, one of Japan's most popular racing series, in which we will supply tires for five racecars driven by four outstanding teams: NAKAJIMA RACING in the GT500 Class and, in the GT300 Class, GAINER, R&D SPORT and Audi Team Hitotsuyama, who placed third in terms of overall team ranking in last year's competition.
At the same time, we will also be supplying tires to various racing teams who will be competing for the title in their respective classes in a wide range of race categories, including the All-Japan Gymkhana Championship, the All-Japan Dirt Trial Championship, the All-Japan Rally Championship and more. In addition, we will also supply tires for three vehicles competing in the OK Class of the All-Japan Karting Championship, the premier karting race in Japan. Meanwhile, we will also be supporting the cultivation of young drivers by supplying "one-make" tires for such beginner-oriented races as FIA Formula 4, Formula 4 and X30 Challenge Japan. We are also proud to support car lovers and racing fans of all stripes through sponsoring and providing tires for participatory motorsports events such as the "TOYOTA GAZOO Racing 86/BRZ Race" and the "TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Rally Challenge", thus helping to expand the talent pool of future world-class racers.
Overseas, we will begin supplying "one-make" tires for the TOP RACE SERIES, one of the most popular racing series in Argentina, the first time.
2.Two-Wheel Motorsports Activities
Overseas, we will be supplying "one-make" tires for the Moto2 and Moto3 Classes in the FIM Grand Prix World Championship, which is one of the world's premier two-wheel racing tournaments. Meanwhile, in our motocross racing activities, DUNLOP is aiming for the championship in MXGP as well as our eighth consecutive year of dominating all classes in the AMA Supercross Championship.
In Japan, we will be supporting top teams and individual riders as they aim for the title in a wide range of tournaments, including the All-Japan Road Race Championship, the All-Japan Motocross Championship, the All-Japan Trials Championship and the Japan Enduro Championship. At the same time, we will also be supplying tires for 8 teams competing in the Suzuka 8 Hours, which is the largest motorbike race in Japan and the final race in the FIM Endurance World Championship, including 7 teams competing in the EWC Class, the worldwide regulation class of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; International Motorcycling Federation).
Furthermore, we will once again be supplying "one-make" tires for 250cc motorbikes competing in road races held throughout the world. These races help to cultivate young riders and are often the first step that up-and-coming racers take in their racing careers.
