Enhancing Sustainability Management Structure: Promoting Integration with Business Strategies and Accelerating Sustainable Natural Rubber Initiatives

The DUNLOP Group aims to enhance its sustainability management structure to integrate business strategies and sustainability initiatives, thereby achieving sustainable corporate value growth. As part of this effort, the Group will establish a Divisional Sustainability Promotion Committee within each business division under the umbrella of the Sustainability Promotion Committee, which oversees company-wide efforts, to further accelerate the integration of business strategies and sustainability measures. The Group will also launch a cross-divisional “Sustainable Natural Rubber (SNR) Subcommittee” to manage and reduce risks and create opportunities in the supply chain for natural rubber, a natural capital resource on which the Group’s business significantly depends.

Chart of Sustainability Management Structure

■ Divisional Sustainability Promotion Committee
The committee discusses and makes decisions on sustainability policies aimed at creating business opportunities and driving growth within each business division. It also oversees the progress toward and shares information regarding division-specific targets under the Long-Term Sustainability Targets: “Driving Our Future Initiatives” *1. By reporting these progress updates to the Sustainability Promotion Committee, the Committee serves to strengthen company-wide monitoring.

■ Sustainable Natural Rubber (SNR) Subcommittee
The Group's business relies significantly on and also has significant impacts on natural rubber, which is a natural capital resource. The SNR Subcommittee is a cross-functional organization aiming to manage and reduce risks, as well as create new opportunities, within the natural rubber supply chain from the perspectives of natural capital and human rights, based on the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy*2. It serves to accelerate the various SNR activities of the Group by concentrating them within this Subcommittee. By aligning with initiatives related to biodiversity and human rights, and taking a mid- to long-term approach, the Subcommittee will pursue efforts to realize sustainable natural rubber through initiatives such as providing support to natural rubber farmers and collaborating with external partners.
